Athletes? Not us. Runners? Nope. Tired of being fat and lazy? Yes! haha
Tyler and I started this program last Monday, May 4th. We’ve completed 4 of the 27 total work-outs and we’re already very proud of ourselves. In a total of just 8 weeks, we should both be able to run for 30 minutes (or about 5k) without stopping to walk.
I believe we can do it. We have a goal of not only finishing this program, but continuing to jog afterwards. I’ll keep you posted as we go through the rest of this challenge.
There are several events coming up this summer in our area that we would like to see ourselves sign up for:
Bike Lexington: Imagine downtown free of cars for an entire day. You on your bike (or a rented one – I think they are free) and hundreds of others on two wheels enjoying the city with you. We did it 2 years ago kind of by accident – we thought we were just going downtown to the Farmer’s Market!
A Midsummer Night’s Run: Of course we haven’t done this one before, but many Lexingtonians participate each year. We did, however, walk in the Shamrock Shuffle this year! haha
Susan G. Komen Race of the Cure: If you’re a runner, you already know about all of these things. I wanted to post them just in case you haven’t heard. Perhaps this post will convince us to actually run in these races!
